What did we Akkadians eat?
Normally people ate two meals a day. Except for the rich, most people ate unleavened bread, and drank large amounts of beer (up to one gallon a day). Cow's milk was also drunk, but it quickly turned sour in the hot climate. Because meat was expensive, most people ate cooked vegetable stews. Fish was an important source of protein. Fruits included apples, pears, grapes, figs, quinces, plums, apricots, mulberries, melons, and pomegranates. Pistachio nuts were also enjoyed. Cakes for special occasions were also made with butter, cheese, dates, flour, and raisins

A common crop that was grown annually in Mesopotamia was flax. Flax was used by the Akkadians in the production of nets, cloth, linseed oil, meal, and even many pharmaceuticals. Flax played a very important role in Akkadian agriculture and commerce as a result of its many uses. Another very popular food source for the Akkadians were the two rivers that surrounded the land. From the Tigris and Euphrates the Akkadains were able to pull many different types of fish and other aquatic animals, and wildfowl of all sorts could be found in the wet marshes that bordered both of the rivers.

Bread:
Bread ( Akkadian, akalu) must have been made, at least in some cases, from leavened dough. There are no direct descriptions, but allusions to its bulky size and to leaving the dough overnight to rest seem to be indications of fermentation. One may assume, however, that in most cases the bread was made from unleavened dough shaped into flat, round loaves. This bread was baked in a peculiar, ubiquitous type of oven called an tinûru . It was a clay implement of cylindrical shape, tapering to a conical form in its upper part and with a side opening at its base. The whole was between 3 and 4 feet high. Once the oven was sufficiently heated, the flat, unleavened loaves were plastered to the side for baking. Salaries of the workers were often paid in bread. Roasted barley was sold in the streets and at the marketplace.
Beer in Akkad
Akkadians drank beer and wine but seemed to have preferred beer. By some estimates forty percent of the wheat from Akkadians harvest went to make beer. the Akkadians switched to agriculture so that people could to settle down and grow grain so they sit around and drink beer together.

Dogs hunting at Night
Likely the first animal to be domesticated, was the dog. Dogs descended from wolves, and were used for hunting wild animals. The Saluki,Is what we call our dogs nowadays.
Another food source came in the form of our cattle, Despite the use of cattle as food and for hides, We discovered the usefulness of milk for drinking and in the making of dairy products . Oxen were also used to pull plows, haul wagons, and drag boats against the river current
Feeding Our Crops:
Akkad was located on the Dry plains
and located in the river area due to farming and society, and we thought rain would be the water for our crops but that method did not work, because the rain was scarce
So in Akkad the river most of the time overflowed so we used a new way to get water in using canals, ditches and pipes and we controlled it by having a gate and opening it up whenever we needed water for our crops. We planted wheat, barley, dates, and vegetables including cucumbers, onions, apples, and spices.
We. raised sheep, goats, and cows. They hunted wild game birds and other animals, and enjoyed fish, cheese, eggs, roasted duck, pork, and deer.
